Garry Winogrand
Garry Winogrand (1928-1984). Fue un importante fotógrafo norteamericano que se caracterizó por su habilidad para capturar la vida cotidiana. Su obra se distinguió por su aguda agudeza formal y su aprecio por lo absurdo.
Desarrolló un interés especial por la fotografía mientras servía en el ejército como pronosticador del clima. Estudió pintura y fotografía en varias instituciones académicas y se convirtió en un fotógrafo renombrado cuyas imágenes capturaron observaciones sofisticadas y fortuitas de la vida cotidiana. Sus fotografías se exhibieron en importantes exposiciones y se le consideró un documentalista del “paisaje social”. Además, recibió múltiples becas Guggenheim y publicó siete libros de fotografías. Su enfoque alegre y su aprecio por el mundo visual, dejaron una influencia duradera en la fotografía contemporánea.
